Simone Faggioli wins 53rd Cronoscalata della Castellana

Simone Faggioli secured his sixth victory, including five consecutive wins, at the 53rd Cronoscalata della Castellana in Orvieto. Competing in the final round of the Campionato Italiano Velocità Montagna (CIVM), Faggioli dominated both climbs on his Nova Proto Np01 Zytek, finishing with a total time of 5’35”76. Stefano Di Fulvio took second place, followed by Samuele Cassibba in third.

In other sporting news, Matteo Zurloni set a new Italian record in the speed climbing quarterfinals during the Coppa Italia Speed finals at the Climbing Stadium in Arco. Zurloni won the stage, while Sara Strocchi dominated the women's event. In the men's overall standings, Francesco Ponzinibio claimed the Coppa Italia title.

Additionally, the Grüntenstafette endurance event in Germany featured a livestream for the first time in its 32-year history, involving 1,620 athletes across various disciplines including cross-country running, mountain biking, and road racing. In Italy, the Corri a Castro running race and the Blu Run in Castiglioncello also saw successful participation from regional athletes.
