The 28th edition of the 'Piękna Wieś Opolska' competition, themed 'Heritage, identity, community', has announced its winners in the Opole Voivodeship.

Grodzisko, located in the Strzelce Opolskie municipality, was named the winner of the 'Most Beautiful Village – heritage and community' category. The community received 18,000 PLN for its successful integration of local heritage and civic engagement, specifically noted for its tradition chamber and intergenerational spaces. Kamień Śląski was also recognized as the most interesting place in its category.

In the 'Place – heart of the community' category, Dębie in the Chrząstowice municipality received a distinction and a 3,000 PLN prize for its well-maintained community square. Additionally, Nowa Schodnia in the Ozimek municipality and Szydłowiec Śląski in the Niemodlin municipality reached the competition finals, each receiving 1,000 PLN.

Henryk Lakwa, the Starosta of Opole, commended the residents, local leaders, and associations for their efforts in driving regional development through community cooperation.
