Amersfoort council preserves playgrounds amid local sports and cultural updates

In Amersfoort, the municipal council unanimously supported a proposal by council member Angeliek Noortman to prevent the demolition of several playgrounds. The decision ensures that the playground at Kloosterlaan in Hoogland will remain, alongside play areas at Flericpad in Schothorst and Hof der Kolommen in Kattenbroek. While some equipment may be replaced for safety reasons, the municipality clarified that no immediate demolition orders have been issued.

In local sports, VV Papendrecht's women and girls' teams achieved significant success, with four out of five teams winning their matches on September 26. Additionally, in a regional derby, Papendrecht defeated De Zwerver with a 3-1 score at Slobbengors. During the match, a lottery was held, with various prizes distributed to attendees.

Cultural events are also scheduled at the Groene Huis in Park Schothorst, including a Viking market on September 26 and 27, featuring historical crafts and combat shows, as well as an annual Kabouterdag on October 4.
