Groningen and Drenthe bus authority reports over 16,000 solo travel cards sold

The OV‑bureau Groningen Drenthe (Busgd) introduced a new solo day‑ticket, the "solobroezz'n" card, this summer. Priced at €10, it allows an individual to travel all day on buses in the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe. By the end of the promotional period on 31 August, more than 16,500 solo cards had been sold, bringing the total number of broezz'n‑type tickets (solo and double‑person cards) to over 24,500 – roughly a 50 % increase compared with previous years.

The campaign complements the nationwide "Dal Vrij Trein" discount train pass and aims to make bus travel a viable alternative for reaching popular tourist spots in the region. The bus authority also offers a free‑ride provision for up to three children aged 11 or younger accompanying each adult. Additional information, route highlights and travel tips are provided through the online "Lijngids" guide, which showcases twelve bus lines serving attractions such as the World Heritage Wadden Sea, alpaca farms in Siddeburen, and the Sprookjeshof in Zuidlaren.
