Groningen schedules FC Groningen Open Day and Noorderzon Festival in August 2026

The football club FC Groningen will hold its Open Day on Saturday 1 August 2026 at Euroborg stadium. The free event runs from 12:00 to 18:00 and includes fan activities, autograph sessions, games, food stalls and guided tours. A shuttle service from nearby park‑and‑ride sites operates throughout the day. In the evening, the club will play a friendly match against Spain’s Real Valladolid, with tickets sold online.

From 20 to 30 August 2026, Groningen will host the 36th edition of the Noorderzon festival. Over eleven days the city’s Noorderplantsoen and other venues will feature international performing arts, music, lectures, and local food. Festival director Milou de Boer highlights the mix of global and Dutch creators, noting that many participating artists are at the start of international careers. The programme includes a launch day talk with writer‑journalist Tatjana Almuli on contemporary social pressures and beauty standards.
