Grosseto Council Approves Direct‑Debit Payments for TARI Waste Tax

The Grosseto municipal council voted unanimously on 31 July to adopt a motion that authorises SEPA Direct Debit for TARI waste‑tax notices. The proposal, presented by councillor Giacomo Cerboni, calls for the new payment option to be operational from 2027.

The council expects the direct‑debit system to simplify bill settlement for residents, eliminate missed deadlines and commission fees, and provide the municipality with more reliable cash flow. Officials will also examine whether the faster collection could allow discounts or other incentives for taxpayers.
