Grosseto: One-year-old girl hospitalized for cannabinoid intoxication

A one-year-old girl has been hospitalized at the Misericordia Hospital in Grosseto after suffering from cannabinoid intoxication. The child was brought to the emergency room by her parents in a lethargic state, showing a lack of normal response to stimuli and extreme drowsiness.

While initial blood tests showed no abnormalities, a urine analysis confirmed a significant concentration of cannabinoids. Medical professionals suspect the child may have accidentally ingested cannabis or a derivative. Following treatment and monitoring, the child's condition has improved, and she is reported to be out of danger.

Local Carabinieri and municipal social services have been notified to investigate the circumstances of the ingestion and to obtain explanations from the parents.
