Grostenquin camping accident kills 18-month-old German girl

An 18-month-old German girl died following a tragic accident at the Capfun de la Tensch campsite in Grostenquin, France, on Wednesday, September 2. The incident occurred while her 45-year-old father was maneuvering the family SUV to relocate their accommodation.

According to the Sarreguemines prosecutor's office, the child and her three siblings—a seven-year-old boy and four-year-old twins—had initially been kept away from the vehicle to ensure safety. However, the children unexpectedly approached the car during the maneuver, and the toddler was struck. Emergency responders from Morhange, Albestroff, and Forbach attempted resuscitation efforts, but the child died at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that toxicology and alcohol tests performed on the father returned negative results. The family, residing in Stuttgart, had only recently arrived at the campsite. Psychological support has been organized for the family.
