Grottaglie San Marco Hospital delays threaten PNRR funding

A delegation of Fratelli d'Italia from Grottaglie inspected the San Marco Hospital in Grottaglie together with ASL Taranto director general Vito Bavaro, health director Vincenzo Gigantelli and Puglia regional council vice‑president Renato Perrini. The party members, including councilor Vincenzo Lenti and provincial director Francesco Ciro Miale, noted that progress since the January 2024 visit was minimal and the construction work remains behind schedule.

The delay raises the risk that the Puglia region, as the PNRR implementer, could be forced to return allocated funds if the deadline of 31 December is missed, potentially harming local citizens. A further inspection is planned for mid‑November to reassess the situation.
