Grottammare Palio del Pattìno rowing race set for July 12

The 26th edition of the Palio del Pattìno – Memorial Maurizio Pignotti will take place on Sunday 12 July, with a start at 17:30 from the Kursaal beach in Grottammare, Italy. Ten mixed-gender crews will race over a 5‑nautical‑mile course in historic wooden “mosconi”, sailing north to Chalet Ciaschì and south to Chalet Savana before returning to the start.

The defending champion is the Lame district crew (Christian Griglio and Rafaela Pazitor). An all‑female team from San Pio V (Alessia Biondi and Silvia David) is also competing. The event is organised by the Grottammare Sportiva association on behalf of the Comune di Grottammare, with support from local sailing clubs and the Uisp.
