Groundforce strike ends at Barcelona-El Prat Airport
The CGT union has called off the indefinite strike by Groundforce workers at Barcelona-El Prat Airport following a signed agreement with the company. The union described the deal as “positive for both parties,” marking an end to the work stoppages that had impacted ground handling services.
The agreement includes the immediate elimination of 5-hour and 45-minute shifts, evaluations of psychosocial risks and workloads at terminals T1 and T2, and a review of the 2024 annual working days for appropriate compensation. Additionally, the parties agreed to review travel times between airport points, overtime procedures, and the implementation of internal processes for airline training courses.
Despite the agreement, the labor dispute is not fully resolved. The union continues to demand the reinstatement of three employees, including two prevention delegates. Because the company has refused their readmission, the CGT has scheduled a protest at the airport's departure area for Monday at 11:00 AM to maintain pressure.
