Group 764 online network targets minors globally

U.S. authorities have identified a decentralized online network known as ‘Group 764’ involved in the sexual exploitation, sadistic extortion, and coercion of minors globally. The group utilizes popular social media platforms, including Discord, Telegram, Instagram, and Snapchat, to contact and manipulate victims.

In a major legal development, 27-year-old Kyle Spittje was sentenced in Tennessee to 77 years in prison. Described by authorities as a ‘nihilistic violent extremist,’ Spittje pleaded guilty to charges involving the incitement of animal abuse videos and the distribution of child sexual abuse material. The U.S. Department of Justice noted that his victims were located in multiple countries, some of whom remain unidentified.

Victims' families have highlighted the ease with which predators access youth through mainstream applications without requiring access to the dark web. One mother reported that her daughter was targeted through a Discord server link, leading to rapid escalation into abuse and extortion.
