George Pirie joins Canadian trade mission to Peru

Ontario MPP George Pirie, Minister of Northern Economic Development and Growth, recently participated in a Canadian trade mission to Peru. The delegation attended Expomina, the largest mining fair in Peru, held in Lima.

Pirie stated the mission aims to reduce Canadian economic dependence on United States markets amid ongoing trade tensions. He noted that Peru’s free trade agreement with Canada provides a strategic opportunity for Canadian mining supply services, technical specialists, and companies to expand their presence in South America.
