Grover Beach man arrested for sexual assault of Lompoc teenager

A 29-year-old Grover Beach man, identified as Alberto Tapia Ochoa, has been arrested following an investigation into the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in Lompoc, California.

The investigation began on October 6 after the victim and her mother reported the assault to the Lompoc Police Department. According to authorities, the victim met the suspect through social media. Despite the teenager disclosing her age, the suspect continued to communicate with her before traveling to Lompoc to meet her in person.

Detectives utilized the city’s Flock Safety camera system to identify the suspect’s vehicle. After obtaining search warrants for his social media accounts, police secured an arrest warrant. Ochoa was located in his vehicle in Grover Beach on October 15 and taken into custody. He was booked into the Lompoc City Jail on multiple charges, including oral copulation with a minor, sexual penetration by a foreign object, and arranging a meeting with a minor for lewd purposes.
