Gréta Márton suffers ankle injury during Champions League match
Ferencváros women's handball player Gréta Márton sustained an ankle injury during a Champions League group stage match against Dortmund. The injury occurred in the second half when an opponent stepped on her foot while attempting to narrow the attacking angle.
Despite the injury, Márton returned to the court with a bandage due to the adrenaline of playing at home after a long absence. However, her condition worsened after the match, necessitating medical examinations. While she ruled out a fracture, there were initial concerns regarding ligament damage.
Márton confirmed that she will undergo rehabilitation to regain her range of motion but noted that her condition has already improved significantly. Due to the injury, she will be unable to join the national team for the upcoming European Championship.
