Grup Bon Preu begins construction on Montblanc logistics center
Grup Bon Preu has commenced construction on a new logistics center in Montblanc, Tarragona, following the receipt of building permits from the local municipality. The project is located within the LOGIS Montblanc industrial area.
The first phase of the development requires an investment of 34.6 million euros. This initial stage includes the construction of two buildings totaling 40,100 square meters: a 26,500 square meter warehouse for dry goods and a 13,600 square meter facility for fresh products. The engineering firm IDP is responsible for the project design, BIM-led construction management, and facility commissioning.
The complex is expected to become operational during the first half of 2028, serving as a primary distribution hub for the Camp de Tarragona, Terres de l’Ebre, and Ponent regions. While the first phase is currently underway, the group’s long-term vision for a logistics city involves a total investment exceeding 204 million euros over a decade, with the potential to create up to 900 jobs.
