Grupa Polsat Plus expands Świdnik factory to produce electric buses
Grupa Polsat Plus is expanding the production capabilities of its bus factory in Świdnik to include electric buses alongside its existing hydrogen-powered NesoBus models. The company has secured its first order for nine electric buses for PKM Świerklaniec, part of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis (GZM).
The contract, valued at over 28 million PLN, is supported by funding from the Just Transition Fund, which covers 80 percent of the cost. The new 12-meter, low-floor electric vehicles are expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2027. Each bus will feature a battery capacity of 515 kWh, providing a range of up to 350 kilometers on a single charge.
In addition to the vehicles, the agreement includes the installation of charging infrastructure consisting of four dual-station chargers with capacities of 80 kW and 120 kW. The buses will be equipped with modern passenger amenities, including air conditioning, monitoring systems, 360-degree cameras, and advanced passenger information systems.
