Grupo Altex cuts CO2 emissions via CHEP circular pallet program in Mexico

Grupo Altex, a Mexican agroindustrial company, received the CHEP Sustainability Certificate after implementing a circular pallet‑sharing system. The program, which reuses wooden pallets, avoided the use of 34,736 pallets in 2025 – saving 79 trees – and reduced emissions by 909,447 kg of CO₂ while preventing 89,664 kg of solid waste. CHEP estimates the carbon‑footprint reduction equals the sequestration capacity of 1,109 acres of forest.

Company officials said the initiative improves logistics efficiency, traceability and supply‑chain resilience for the food sector, reinforcing the role of circular economy solutions in meeting climate challenges.
