Grupo Carso announces 4 billion peso investment in Puebla
Carlos Slim Helú and Grupo Carso have announced a 4 billion peso investment project aimed at revitalizing parts of the Historic Center of Puebla, Mexico. The development is planned for the San Francisco, Analco, Barrio de la Luz, and Bulevar 5 de Mayo areas.
The project involves the construction of approximately 700 apartments across four- and five-story buildings, alongside commercial spaces, covering a total of 45,000 square meters. While the investment aims to reactivate urban spaces, concerns have been raised regarding the potential for gentrification in the UNESCO World Heritage site and whether necessary authorizations from the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) have been secured.
Separately, reports indicate that the Institute of Health and Social Security for Workers in the Service of the State of Puebla (ISSSTEP) is undergoing a renewal of medical equipment and furniture after two decades of neglect.
