Grupo Chibatão relocates floating pier to Itacoatiara

Grupo Chibatão has begun relocating a floating pier to Itacoatiara in the state of Amazonas following emergency authorization from the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (Antaq). The temporary structure is intended to serve as a logistical alternative to mitigate the impacts of the 2026 drought on cargo and supply flows.

The move is part of a preventive strategy to ensure the continuous movement of raw materials and goods essential to the Manaus Free Trade Zone (PIM). This comes as river levels in the region are being monitored closely, with reports indicating a daily decrease of approximately 32 centimeters. The authorization allows the group to utilize the provisional structure in Itacoatiara for a period of 180 days.
