Grupo CISA targets 400 female public transport operators
Grupo CISA has announced an initiative to increase its number of female public transport operators to 400, aiming to become the leading group for female recruitment in Latin America. The company currently employs 177 women across its various concessions.
Specific operations include 86 women at Movilidad Integral de Hermosillo (MIH) and 40 at Conexión Centro Aeropuerto (CCA), which operates the Ruta Quetzalcóatl—noted as the first route managed exclusively by female staff. Additionally, Zonal Xochimilco (Zoxo) employs 21 female operators.
Jesús Padilla, president and CEO of Grupo CISA, stated that the goal is not only to attract more women but to establish programs that ensure their professional development and long-term retention. This move comes amid a national trend where, according to INEGI’s 2024 Annual Transport Survey, 16,931 women are employed in urban and suburban fixed-route collective transport in Mexico.
