Grupo DB expands wholesale‑retail stores in Manaus, Brazil

Grupo DB opened a new DB Atacado e Varejo store in the Compensa neighbourhood of western Manaus on 15 January. The renovated 6,000‑square‑metre outlet operates from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., offers exclusive discounts for families and small entrepreneurs, and provides 120 parking spaces. Marketing and Expansion Director Gabriel Pedrosa said the format “has been a success among Amazonian families” and that the company plans additional locations, including a future store in Nova Cidade.

A second DB Atacado e Varejo unit in the Distrito neighbourhood of southern Manaus was relaunched on 28 January after extensive modernisation. The 14,000‑square‑metre facility features 7,000 square metres of sales floor, 39 check‑out counters (including eight self‑service), over 300 parking bays, and a new restaurant called “Manaô” that serves a buffet lunch. The store now serves both final‑consumer shoppers and small‑business owners, with extended hours of 8 a.m.–10 p.m. on weekdays and up to 9 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Both openings underline Grupo DB’s strategy to broaden its wholesale‑retail model across Manaus.
