Grupo Desportivo de Bragança secured a 3-2 victory against Brito Sport Clube in the opening round of the Campeonato de Portugal. Ushindi opened the scoring for Bragança in the 12th minute, followed by an equalizer from Renato Miranda in the 22nd minute. Bragança regained the lead before halftime, and despite Brito scoring a penalty during stoppage time to level the match, Edgar Ribeiro scored a decisive third goal in the 99th minute. Following the goal, Ribeiro was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
