Grupo Fuertes expands into poultry with acquisition of Tolvasa‑Paasa

Spanish food conglomerate Grupo Fuertes, best known for its El Pozo brand, has completed the purchase of the family‑run poultry companies Tolvasa and Paasa. The two firms, with more than 50 years of experience, operate in Casas Ibáñez and Albacete and cover the full range of chicken production—from feed manufacturing, incubation and rearing farms to slaughter, cutting and distribution of fresh and frozen chicken products. The transaction, advised by Garrigues and EY Parthenon for Grupo Fuertes and KPMG for the sellers, received approval from the Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC). The acquisition gives Grupo Fuertes complete control of the poultry value chain and strengthens its position in the Spanish avian meat market, diversifying from its traditional pork and turkey businesses.
