Grupo Gafieirando celebrates 10 years with debut album launch

The musical group Gafieirando is celebrating its tenth anniversary with the release of its first album. To mark the milestone, the group will perform at Rio Scenarium on September 17 as part of the Semana de Arte do Rio.

Led by researcher and musician Daniela Spielmann, the group’s repertoire focuses on the traditions of Rio de Janeiro’s gafieiras, featuring rhythms such as samba, choro, and bolero. The upcoming album, released via Kuarup, includes original compositions and tributes to key figures in Brazilian music. The event will include a ballroom dance class followed by a live performance.
