Grupo JOM invests 2 million euros to expand Guimarães industrial facility
Grupo JOM is undertaking a significant investment cycle to expand its industrial and real estate operations. A key component of this strategy is a 2 million euro expansion of its industrial facility in Guimarães. This project will add approximately 2,000 square meters to the existing 15,000 square meter site, increasing production capacity by roughly 20%. The facility, which currently produces over 70,000 pieces of furniture annually, will also undergo modernization through new equipment and the installation of photovoltaic panels for energy production.
The group’s industrial operations are gaining international relevance with the installation of Birkenstock at JOM Indústria’s Polo II, where the German brand will establish a structure dedicated to new product development. Currently, over 40% of JOM’s furniture is produced in-house, and more than 80% of its total sales consist of products manufactured in Portugal.
In the real estate sector, the group is transforming assets into commercial spaces, including the creation of the Corroios and Batalha Retail Parks. Further diversification projects have been implemented in Portimão, Bragança, and Penafiel, with additional expansion projects planned for Maia, Castelo Branco, and Chaves.
