Grupo Nutresa expands via acquisition and new product lines
Grupo Nutresa is expanding its industrial and consumer footprint through new product launches and acquisitions in Colombia. The company's pasta brand, Doria, has partnered with Ranchera to launch a new line of flavored pastas. This product line aims to capture the growing niche of local flavors in Colombia, which has seen an annual growth rate of 7.8%. The new products are designed for convenience and nutritional value, featuring Nutrivit fortification and no front-of-package warning labels.
In a separate strategic move, Grupo Nutresa has acquired 100% of the shares of Empaques Industriales de Colombia, a Bogotá-based manufacturer of corrugated cardboard packaging and complements. This acquisition follows recent expansions by the conglomerate, which is led by Jaime Gilinski, including the addition of the Tío Rico ice cream brand in Venezuela and the Mimo’s chain. The company continues to strengthen its presence in the industrial sector while targeting international market expansion.
