Grupo Ollamani reports 548 million‑peso loss tied to 2026 FIFA World Cup

Grupo Ollamani, the owner of Mexico City’s Estadio Banorte and Club América, announced a consolidated net loss of 548.2 million pesos for the second quarter of 2026. The company said the loss stems from extraordinary FIFA‑related operations for the 2026 World Cup, not from its regular business.

Key cost items include a $62.4 million (about 1 billion pesos) payment to FIFA for premium seating rights, expenses for stadium remodeling, and the hosting of five World Cup matches at the venue, which was temporarily renamed Estadio Ciudad de México. The net impact of the FIFA operations alone was estimated at 557.2 million pesos. Ollamani expects an additional 255.9 million‑peso hit in the third quarter as related activities such as the Zócalo Fan Fest continue.

The company stressed that these figures are temporary and do not reflect its ordinary performance. In the comparable period of 2025, Ollamani posted a profit of 11.5 million pesos.
