Grupo Pachuca negotiates sale of Club León

Grupo Pachuca is in the process of negotiating the sale of Club León due to Liga MX regulations prohibiting multipropriety. While no official buyer has been confirmed, reports have linked Avenue Capital, a private equity firm, to the negotiations, alongside interest from groups connected to Burnley and Espanyol.

Jesús Martínez, President of Grupo Pachuca, has clarified that the sale of Club León will not impact the Spanish club Real Oviedo, in which the group is a majority shareholder. Martínez emphasized that all business operations must remain profitable and noted that Real Oviedo is currently achieving positive financial results.

Additionally, Martínez announced plans to construct a new sports city for Real Oviedo on a 40-hectare plot of land. The project, which has already incurred costs exceeding three million euros for land and licensing, is intended to be one of the largest sports complexes of its kind.
