Grupo Petz Cobasi projects R$ 8 billion in annual revenue

Grupo Petz Cobasi, the Brazilian pet retail group formed by the merger of Petz and Cobasi, is projected to reach R$ 8 billion in revenue this year. In the first half of the year, the combined entity reported a total gross revenue of R$ 4.1 billion, representing an 8.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025 on a pro forma basis.

During the second quarter of 2026, the group saw gross revenue grow 7.8% year-on-year to R$ 2.1 billion. Individual performance showed the Cobasi brand grew 8.6% to R$ 965.6 million, while Petz grew 7.2% to R$ 1.142 billion. Same-store sales rose by 7.1%, and digital sales increased 9.2% to R$ 855.6 million, accounting for 40.6% of gross revenue.

Sergio Zimerman, the group's chairman and founder of Petz, noted that the company is an outlier in the Brazilian retail sector, which has been negatively impacted by high interest rates, online betting, and competition from imports. As part of a network rationalization program, the group has also begun closing certain stores.
