Grupo Piracanjuba launches educational program for employees in nine states
Grupo Piracanjuba, a major Brazilian food company, has launched an educational initiative for its employees across nine states. In partnership with Unico Skill, the company provides access to over 40,000 educational options, including adult education (EJA), technical courses, undergraduate degrees, MBAs, and language training from more than 100 national and international institutions.
The initiative aims to address labor shortages and educational disparities in Brazil. Data from Inep indicates that the rural population aged 18 to 29 averages 10.5 years of study, compared to 12.1 years for urban populations. Additionally, an EY report identifies the attraction, development, and retention of people as a primary risk for the Brazilian agribusiness sector due to a scarcity of prepared workers.
Edilson Vieira dos Anjos, Director of People and Management at Grupo Piracanjuba, stated that investing in employee development is a central pillar of the company’s strategy, intended to provide qualification opportunities regardless of the region where employees are located.
