Grupo Podpah Acquires Passa a Bola to Boost Women’s Football for 2027 World Cup
Grupo Podpah announced the acquisition of the Passa a Bola channel, which specializes in women’s football. The move is intended to strengthen coverage of the sport ahead of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup that Brazil will host.
Passa a Bola, founded in 2021 by journalists Alê Xavier and Luana Maluf, already had more than 200,000 YouTube subscribers and over 230,000 Instagram followers. Under Podpah the channel will launch three regular programs – “Fala, Bebê,” “PAB Visita,” and “De Letra” – and expand its on‑air talent with Denise Thomaz Bastos, Bi Goes, Amanda Porfirio and Roberta Nina. Sponsors Amazon, Hyundai and Uber will provide commercial backing.
CEO Victor Assis said the timing after the men’s World Cup ensures the new venture receives full visibility. The integration brings financial resources and production infrastructure to enable more elaborate football‑focused content, positioning Passa a Bola as a primary source for the women’s tournament.
