Grupo Relámpagos completes 2,243 aerial operations in Estado de México
Grupo Relámpagos, an auxiliary service unit for the State of Mexico, has completed 2,243 aerial operations over the last three years. These missions include 1,390 medical emergencies involving 1,458 transfers, specifically 1,243 patients, 192 organs for transplantation, and 23 blood products.
Due to its role in reducing transport times and preserving organ viability, the group received two recognitions from the National Transplant Center (CENATRA) in 2026.
Beyond medical services, the group conducted 364 aerial surveillance operations in coordination with security and civil protection agencies. Additional missions included 195 operations to combat forest fires and 14 search and rescue missions for individuals in difficult-to-access areas. These services are part of the administration of Delfina Gómez Álvarez, working alongside the Institute of Social Security of the State of Mexico and Municipalities (ISSEMYM).
