Grupo Rifel invests $100 million in Querétaro expansion

Grupo Pan de Pala Rifel has inaugurated its second production plant in the Colón municipality of Querétaro, located within the Kaizen II Industrial Park. The expansion project involves an investment exceeding 100 million dollars through 2030.

The company, which specializes in industrial baking and pastry, aims to triple its production capacity by implementing automated systems and robotic technology sourced from the United States, Europe, and Asia. This expansion is expected to increase the company’s workforce from its current 800 employees to more than 1,500 direct jobs.

Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri González attended the inauguration, noting that the state’s legal certainty and infrastructure contribute to its ranking as the second most competitive state in Mexico according to the IMCO State Competitiveness Index 2026. David Rifel Auvert, Director of Administration and Finance for Grupo Rifel, noted that the company has maintained an annual growth rate of over 40 percent since establishing its first Mexican plant in Querétaro in 2016.
