Grupo Teatro/Circo Maktub tours circus shows in Ilhéus

The Grupo Teatro/Circo Maktub is celebrating its 20-year history of circus research through the ‘20 Anos de Palhaçaria’ project. Led by Fábio Nascimento, the troupe is touring the show ‘PalhaçAs e PalhaçOs’ across various communities in Ilhéus, Brazil.

The tour includes performances in popular, Indigenous, and settlement communities. Following an initial presentation in Novo Couto, the schedule includes a performance at the Comunidade Assentada Frei Vantuy on October 17 and a show at the Colégio Estadual Indígena Tupinambá Amotara on October 21.

The production features performers Suzane Marques, Larissa Paixão, and Fábio Nascimento, utilizing a mix of classical circus references and original repertoire. The project is supported by the Aldir Blanc National Policy for Cultural Promotion, with resources from the Brazilian Federal Government and the State of Bahia.
