Grupo Toky files for judicial recovery to restructure over R$1 billion debt

The São Paulo Court approved a judicial recovery filing by Grupo Toky, the parent of furniture retailers Tok&Stok and Mobly, reporting debts exceeding R$1 billion. The process aims to keep the companies operating while they negotiate a debt‑restructuring plan, suspending executions against the group for 180 days and preserving roughly 2,000 jobs.

Consumers with pending orders are advised not to assume cancellations; the companies must honor existing contracts, though deliveries may face delays as suppliers tighten credit terms. Buyers should retain purchase documentation and monitor order status closely.

The recovery also signals tighter supplier relations, with possible demands for upfront payments, but the brands will continue to operate their stores and online platforms during the restructuring.
