Gruppo FS unveils new historical train spot at Rome Film Festival

Gruppo FS and Fondazione FS Italiane presented a new promotional spot titled ‘Viaggiare in Italia, viaggiando nel tempo’ at the 21st Rome Film Festival. Directed by Volfango De Biasi and set to Lucio Dalla’s ‘Felicità’, the film uses historical trains and vintage carriages to trace the evolution of Italian rail travel and its connection to the nation’s history.

The narrative follows a young protagonist, played by Serena De Ferrari, who travels through different eras starting from the Royal Hall of Milan Central Station. Giuseppe Inchingolo, Corporate Vice General of Gruppo FS, stated that the project aims to value the historical and cultural heritage of the railways, which serve as witnesses to the country’s social transformations.

Luigi Cantamessa, Director General of Fondazione FS Italiane, noted that the history of the state railways is deeply intertwined with Italian customs and the country's development over the last 60 years. The campaign highlights the link between the railway world and cinema, celebrating how trains have connected territories and generations.
