Gruppo Hera reports €3.2 billion shared value creation in 2025
In 2025 the Italian multi‑utility Gruppo Hera generated €3.2 billion of shared economic value for its stakeholders, equivalent to about 60 % of its EBITDA and a 7 % increase over the previous year. Roughly €2.1 billion of this amount was distributed to the territories where the group operates, with more than €1 billion paid to local suppliers.
Within the province of Rimini the group returned €145 million to the local economy: €83 million was spent on goods and services from local suppliers, supporting 473 jobs and adding 28 new hires to the 555 employees already based there. Rate‑payment plans for families and businesses exceeded €3 million. Hera also invested €2.7 million in 18 fast‑charging stations powered entirely by renewable energy.
On the sustainability front, Hera cut its greenhouse‑gas emissions by 18 % compared with 2019 and aims for a 35 % reduction by 2029 and net‑zero by 2050. Waste‑recycling rates reached 61 %, surpassing the EU 2030 target. Total sustainability‑related investments amounted to €811 million, including €484 million for water‑cycle security, grid upgrades and digitalisation.
