Gruppo Spaggiari Parma hit by cyberattack affecting school data
The Italian National Cybersecurity Agency (AGe Nazionale) has addressed concerns regarding a cyberattack on Gruppo Spaggiari Parma S.p.A., the provider of the ClasseViva electronic register platform used by numerous Italian schools.
The breach, which occurred on June 30, was claimed by the group xpI0itrs. While the company stated that the incident was limited to the 'Modulistica Smart' component of the Bergantini platform and did not affect the core electronic register or school management software, reports suggest that thousands of files containing data on students, families, teachers, and staff may have been compromised.
In response to the incident, the company has notified the Data Protection Authority and the National Cybersecurity Agency. As a precautionary measure, users have been advised to renew their access credentials.
