Gryf Słupsk celebrates 80th anniversary with victory and gala
Gryf Słupsk celebrated its 80th anniversary with both athletic success and a formal gala. On the pitch, the club marked the milestone with a 4-2 victory over Stoczniowiec Gdańsk. The match was described by coach Dominik Kaczmarek as a “rollercoaster,” as both teams missed penalty opportunities before Gryf secured three consecutive wins.
To honor the club's history, a gala was held at the Sinfonia Baltica in Słupsk. Established in 1946, Gryf Słupsk is a multi-section club that has produced athletes in football, judo, shooting, athletics, and basketball, including several Olympians. During the ceremony, the club honored distinguished former players and coaches, including Olympic shooter Robert Kraskowski and world champion relay runner Tomasz Czubak.
Club leadership discussed future developments, including the potential unification of training programs between two clubs in Słupsk to support over 400 athletes and 40 coaches.
