Grzegorz Braun charged with four offenses in Poland

Grzegorz Braun, a Polish Member of the European Parliament and leader of Konfederacja Korona Polska, has been charged with four offenses, according to National Prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk. Braun has reportedly denied the allegations and refused to provide explanations.

The charges stem from several incidents occurring in 2025. These include the theft of a Ukrainian flag from the municipal office in Biała Podlaska and the theft of a European Union flag from the Ministry of Industry in Katowice. Additionally, Braun faces charges for destroying an LGBT+ exhibition in the Sejm (the Polish parliament) and for defaming the Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jews.

The defamation charge relates to comments made during a presidential debate, where Braun referred to the yellow daffodil—a symbol used by the Polin Museum—as a ‘sign of shame.’ These legal proceedings follow a decision by the European Parliament to lift Braun's immunity regarding these specific matters.
