Grzegorz Braun promises uniformed officers a guaranteed fifth place on KKP election lists
At a press conference held in front of the Home Army monument in Warsaw, Grzegorz Braun, leader of the Konfederacja Korony Polskiej (KKP), announced that candidates from uniformed services – soldiers, police officers, firefighters, border guards and other uniformed personnel – will occupy the fifth position on the party’s parliamentary election list in every one of Poland’s 41 constituencies. He said the move is intended to restore public security by first securing the safety of the officers themselves, adding that the party’s defence model envisions that only Polish soldiers may conduct armed actions on Polish territory.
Braun’s proposal aligns with existing Polish law that allows professional soldiers to run for the Sejm, provided they inform their commanding officer, take unpaid leave during the campaign and resign from active service if elected. The announcement comes amid a reshuffling of the Polish right‑wing, following the split of the Law and Justice (PiS) party and the creation of the Rozwój Plus parliamentary club.
