Grzegorz Zengota to leave Unia Leszno speedway club

Speedway rider Grzegorz Zengota has confirmed his departure from Unia Leszno following a difficult season in the PGE Ekstraliga. Zengota, who finished the season with an average of 1.575, attributed his late-season decline in performance to the emotional weight of knowing he would be leaving the club.

Despite a strong mid-season period where he recorded double-digit scores in consecutive matches, Zengota stated that the uncertainty regarding his future and feeling unwelcome within the club became an overwhelming burden. He expressed regret that he could not finish the season with a medal as he had intended.

Negotiations for a new contract with Unia Leszno were unsuccessful after club president Józef Dworakowski declined Zengota's proposal, opting instead to sign Bartłomiej Kowalski. Zengota is set to return to Stelmet Falubaz Zielona Góra for the upcoming season.
