GS Caltex to supply 2,000 tons of SAF to DHL Express

GS Caltex has entered into a partnership with DHL Express to supply 2,000 tons of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to the logistics company’s aircraft operating in South Korea over the next year. The agreement, signed in Seoul, aims to support carbon reduction through DHL’s ‘GoGreen Plus’ program.

The fuel is produced using a co-processing method, which integrates bio-raw materials into existing refinery processes. This product has obtained the ISCC EU certification, meeting European Union renewable energy directives. To meet growing market demand, GS Caltex plans to establish a dedicated SAF production line by the end of this year, including the construction of specialized pipelines and bio-raw material tanks.

GS Caltex has been expanding its presence in the low-carbon fuel sector, previously collaborating with Neste for pilot operations and exporting SAF to Narita Airport in Japan via Itochu Corporation. The company also provides SAF to several domestic carriers, including Asiana Airlines, Jin Air, and Eastar Jet, with scheduled supplies to Korean Air and Aero K starting in 2025.
