GS Engineering & Construction and LS ELECTRIC partner for AI data centers

GS Engineering & Construction and LS ELECTRIC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) data center market. The partnership focuses on securing power equipment supply chains and developing next-generation direct current (DC) power solutions to meet the high power density and cooling requirements of AI-driven facilities.

As AI data centers rely heavily on high-performance computing hardware like GPUs, there is an increasing shift toward DC power distribution to minimize energy conversion losses compared to traditional alternating current (AC) methods. Under the agreement, LS ELECTRIC will provide critical power equipment—including switchgear, gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), and ultra-high voltage transformers—to support GS Engineering & Construction's data center projects.

The two companies also plan to hold regular technical exchange meetings to develop modular data center technologies and respond to the design and technical requirements of global big-tech clients.
