GS Yuasa lithium-ion batteries to power Lexus hybrid models

GS Yuasa Corporation has announced that its ‘EHW4GA’ automotive lithium-ion battery will be utilized in Toyota Motor Corporation’s Lexus ES hybrid models for international markets. The batteries will also be featured in the new RAV4.

Produced and distributed by Blue Energy Co., Ltd., a GS Yuasa Group company, the new cells and modules offer an energy density more than 10% higher than previous series products while maintaining comparable dimensions and weight. The company has also implemented advanced resistance-reduction technology, improving charge and discharge properties by over 10% to optimize overall battery performance. Additionally, the use of a die-cast housing in the modules has reduced both component count and weight.
