GSave and Jax Reyes offer guidance on Filipino saving habits

Financial content creator Jax Reyes is offering guidance to help Filipinos identify different saving styles to better manage personal finances. The advice comes amid data showing varying financial priorities among consumers in the Philippines. According to TransUnion’s Consumer Pulse Study, 49% of Filipino consumers have increased their emergency savings, while Sun Life’s 2026 Financial Resilience Index indicates that managing daily expenses remains the primary concern for over half of the population.

Reyes categorizes savers into different types, such as the ‘accidental saver’ (May Naitabi), who saves whatever remains after essential spending. To prevent these irregular amounts from being spent accidentally, Reyes suggests using dedicated accounts. The GSave platform offers high-yield savings accounts with interest rates of up to 3.5% to help make these savings more intentional.
