GSC Game World confirms STALKER 2 multiplayer is still in development

GSC Game World has confirmed that the free multiplayer mode for STALKER 2 is still in active development. During Gamescom, leadership figures Ievgen and Mariia Grygorovych addressed the community regarding the delay of this highly anticipated feature.

Since the game's release in 2024, the studio has prioritized enhancing the core single-player experience and developing new content. This includes the recent release of the major expansion 'Cost of Hope' and work on a second ambitious expansion. The developers noted that while the multiplayer update was promised to arrive after the official launch, technical challenges and the focus on single-player content have shifted the development timeline.
