GSC Game World releases STALKER 2 update and confirms multiplayer status
GSC Game World has released update 1.020 for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, bringing the game to version 2.0.4 across all platforms. The patch focuses on extensive bug fixes, including resolving issues where players could lose movement capabilities after C4 explosions, fixing mission-specific bugs in quests such as ‘In memory of the fallen’, and addressing lighting and sound issues on Xbox consoles.
Regarding the game’s future, developers Evgeny and Maria Grigorovich confirmed during a press conference at Gamescom that the free multiplayer mode remains in production. The delay in the online component is attributed to the studio prioritizing single-player content, bug patching, and DLC development. While no specific release date has been provided, the studio has reportedly developed a technical solution to ensure PC mods do not interfere with online compatibility.
