GSK and HUTCHMED sign cancer therapy licensing deal

GSK has finalized an exclusive development and licensing agreement with a subsidiary of HUTCHMED for the experimental cancer therapy HMPL-A830. The deal grants GSK worldwide rights to the therapy, excluding mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

HMPL-A830 is a first-in-class antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) designed to simultaneously target KRAS and EGFR. The therapy aims to deliver a highly selective KRAS inhibitor directly to tumors expressing EGFR, potentially improving efficacy and tolerability for patients with colorectal, pancreatic, and lung cancers.

Under the terms of the agreement, HUTCHMED will receive an upfront payment of $110 million, with potential milestone payments reaching up to $1.295 billion. HUTCHMED will lead the global Phase I clinical development program, while GSK will manage subsequent clinical development and commercialization.
